meditations of a blueberry

We are all packed and ready to get on the road first thing tomorrow! I can't wait to see the beautiful colours and smell the crisp BC mountain air.  There is just something magical about the fall in the mountains. The light seems to dance among the colours, and the air itself changes to something soul refreshing. I am hoping to get some good pictures of E this time; now that I have FINALLY figured out my camera settings! Actually, there will be lots of picture-taking. My sister has asked me to take some maternity photos of her and her fiance, and I couldn't be more honoured. I am not a professional by any sense of the word, and the fact that she wants to share those moments with me is touching. I have a few ideas in my head, and I really hope the sun cooperates for them! Hopefully, I will get something fantastic for her and share it here for you. E and I are actually heading to BC for my sister's "Mother Blessing" ceremony. A good friend of mine who

It's almost been a year. I don't seem to be very good at this regular posting thing. When I look back at past posts, I am surprised at things that I have written! Not so much about the content, but more about the actual writing. I used to be able to write! Perhaps with practice, one day again I will be able to recall forgotten vocabulary and grammar rules! Truthfully, I forgot all about this blog (again). But it has been a busy year. In the last year, E has grown, and grown, and grown some more and is now a toddler. I've made some fabulous friends from a fabulous mom's group I joined . And mrblueberry (finally) got his continuous teaching contract. But it hasn't all been positive. Mrblueberry's grandfather passed away this summer at the age of 88. He lived a full and long life, but that doesn't make his passing any easier. It was the first family member mrblueberry had die, so it was hard. There has been a lot of family drama with his grandfather's pass
